"Here," said Archie, taking out the ripped photograph, holding the half with Maude and handing the half with the man's portrait over to me. "We'll see if anybody knows this man, and then we'll get to the more productive methods of finding out, such as consulting tarot cards or looking for information in the constellations or rolling dice–"
"Your sarcasm is duly noted–"
He continued to talk over me. "–or perhaps asking a squirrel or flipping coins or asking a blind man if he's seen him before, who knows, maybe if we believe hard enough the answer will just come to us in a dream or vision or some other form of prophety manner. Who knows, maybe Jesus Christ will resurrect once again just to come to this cafe in bloody North Woolwich and give us the bloody answer while we're sitting around drinking tea with honey in it!"
"Now that's just silly," I said. "You hate honey in your tea."
More from my NaNoWriMo novel. I'm way behind, like, 9,000 words behind, so I'm trying to have a writing jam today to get caught up.
Wish me luck!
